International Aesthetic Medicine at a Tertiary Hospital

A detailed institutional overview of the international program — the setting, the team, the international pathway, the language and travel support, the fee structure, and the frequently asked questions.

Overview

An international program inside a tertiary hospital

Who We Are

The international aesthetic medicine service is the English-speaking pathway into the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center of Chongqing West District Hospital — a modern tertiary general hospital in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing. The hospital opened the Center in April 2026 and the international pathway operates as a single point of contact for international patients.

Why Choose This Center

Aesthetic care carries real medical considerations: anaesthesia, infection control, vascular-safety protocols, and complication cover. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means the operating theatre, intensive care, imaging, and pharmacy are in the same building — not a referral away.

Multidisciplinary Support

Every international plan draws on real medical depth: pre-anaesthesia assessment, vascular-safety protocols, pharmacy and imaging support, and theatre-level backup if a complication needs surgery. That safety net is the difference between an injection clinic and a hospital department.

Service Lines

Six service lines, one coordinator

All six service lines of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center are open to international patients. The international coordinator routes your enquiry to the correct lead so you do not repeat your story.

Aesthetic Surgery

Eyelid, nose, chin, lip, and facial refinement surgery, plus breast and body contouring. Planned conservatively with hospital-grade anaesthesia and ICU cover for complex cases.

Reconstructive Plastic Surgery

Scar revision, complex wound care, post-trauma reconstruction, and repair of failed cosmetic operations. Reconstructive indications may be insurable, unlike cosmetic indications — we will tell you which category applies.

Skin & Laser Aesthetics

Laser and energy-based pigment, scar, and rejuvenation work, with treatment intensity adjusted to skin type and conservative protocols for higher Fitzpatrick grades.

Dermatology

Medical skin assessment before any aesthetic plan — pigment conditions, barrier health, dermatitis, and post-procedure complication care. The dermatology lead can review your history remotely before any travel.

Injectables & Skin Quality

Botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, skin boosters, and thread lifts, planned conservatively with vascular-safety protocols and surgical backup in the same building.

Breast & Body Contouring

Breast augmentation, reduction, lift, liposuction, and abdominoplasty with hospital-grade anaesthesia, ICU cover, and English-speaking discharge planning.

International Coordinator

Michael Yu, International Coordinator

Michael Yu is the named International Coordinator for the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center. He is the single point of contact for international patients from first enquiry through follow-up.

Single Point of Contact

From your first message to your final follow-up, Michael is the person who replies. He routes your enquiry to the correct specialist lead, gathers the documents needed for a written summary, and confirms everything in writing before any travel or deposit.

Reachable on X and Facebook

Michael can be reached on X at @sooogooo and on Facebook at sooogooo. Send a message with a brief description of your goals and any relevant medical history, and he will respond with the next step.

Honest about scope

Michael’s role is coordination, not clinical advice. Clinical questions are routed to the appropriate specialist lead, and the coordinator summarises written recommendations rather than offering medical opinions himself.

Language & Communication

English-speaking coordination, clear documentation

The international pathway is built for patients who do not read Chinese. Every step — from first enquiry to discharge summary — is documented in English.

  • Written enquiries, online consultations, and pre-treatment summaries in English
  • In-person English coordination on the day of consultation and on the day of treatment
  • Discharge instructions and follow-up plans in English, with translation available for any supporting documents you need to take home
  • Written confirmation of fees, scope, and timeline before any deposit or treatment
  • Remote follow-up by email or messaging after you return home
International Pathway

Step by step, from enquiry to follow-up

The international pathway is a written sequence of steps. You can pause, ask questions, or step out at any point. Nothing is scheduled without your written agreement.

  1. Enquiry. Send a written message describing your goals and any relevant medical history. The coordinator replies in English with the next step.
  2. Online consultation. A video or written consultation with the relevant specialist lead. Photos may be requested for surgical or laser planning.
  3. Written summary. The coordinator sends a written summary in English: scope, timeline, fee estimate, and what is and is not included.
  4. Deposit & booking. Once the written plan is agreed, a deposit confirms the surgical date. The deposit is credited against the final invoice.
  5. Visa guidance. The coordinator provides a hospital invitation letter for your visa application. We do not sponsor a medical visa; the visa is your responsibility.
  6. Airport pickup. Pre-arranged airport pickup from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport can be arranged through the coordinator for an additional fee.
  7. In-person consultation. An in-person English-speaking consultation with the specialist lead on arrival, including pre-anaesthesia assessment for surgical cases.
  8. Treatment. Treatment is performed inside the tertiary hospital with full emergency, anaesthesia, and ICU cover.
  9. Recovery lodging. Recovery lodging near the hospital can be arranged for international patients and accompanying family members.
  10. Follow-up online. After discharge, follow-up is conducted by email, messaging, and remote photo review with the specialist lead and the coordinator.
Travel & Logistics

Getting to the hospital, staying near it

The hospital is in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing, well connected by air, high-speed rail, and metro.

By Air

The nearest major airport is Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG), with direct flights from most major Asian hubs and selected long-haul destinations. Pre-arranged airport pickup can be coordinated for international patients.

By High-Speed Rail

Chongqing West Railway Station is one of the city’s principal high-speed rail hubs, connected to Chengdu and other major cities. Metro Line 5 connects the station area to the hospital.

By Metro

Huayan Station on Metro Line 5 is the nearest metro stop, about 500 m south of the hospital. The walk is flat and well signed.

Accommodation & Family Rooms

The coordinator can suggest hotels within walking distance of the hospital, and advise on family-room options for accompanying relatives during inpatient stays.

Pricing & Payment

Transparent fees, honest about what is insured

Fees are quoted in writing before any commitment. The hospital accepts standard payment methods. Cosmetic procedures are out-of-pocket in most cases; only medically indicated procedures may be insured.

  • Consultation fee range: Initial specialist consultations are quoted in advance; fees depend on the specialist and the length of the assessment.
  • Treatment pricing factors: Procedure complexity, anaesthesia time, theatre time, implant or material cost, length of inpatient stay, and any additional services such as airport pickup.
  • Hospital payment options: Major cards and bank transfer are accepted through the hospital cashier; specific options are confirmed with the coordinator in advance.
  • Deposit for surgery booking: A deposit confirms a surgical date and is non-refundable once the operating theatre has been reserved; the deposit is credited against the final invoice.
  • Insurance honesty: Most cosmetic procedures are not covered by international insurance. Reconstructive and medically indicated procedures may be covered — we will tell you which category your plan falls into and provide the documentation your insurer asks for.
What the program does NOT promise

Honest limits

An international medical-aesthetics pathway should be honest about what it cannot do. Here is what this program does not promise, so you can plan accordingly.

  • No guaranteed outcomes. Aesthetic results vary from person to person; no surgeon can guarantee a particular look or duration of effect.
  • No medical visa sponsorship. The coordinator provides a hospital invitation letter for your visa application but does not sponsor a medical visa; the visa is your responsibility.
  • No insurance for cosmetic procedures. Cosmetic procedures are out-of-pocket in most cases; only medically indicated procedures may be insured.
  • No remote prescribing. The pathway does not replace an in-person consultation; pre-travel advice is for planning, not for treatment.
  • No follow-up by the operating surgeon in your home country. Follow-up is conducted remotely with the same specialist lead where feasible; in-country emergency care is your local hospital’s responsibility.
